Dear members,

In the coming months, we from the board have planned to publish a few articles that will escape the activities here in the club.

The purpose of this is to give you as a member a better insight into some of what the club and board are working on right now.

In this first issue, as the new president of the club, I will start with a brief presentation of myself to those who do not know me in advance.

I am 57 years old and live in Løsning. I have been a member of Hedensted Golf Club since the start. Has played golf for over 35 years. I have worked in the Mens Section Bureau on two occasions, shown 6 years in total with a single year as captain. Member of Sølauget and joined the board last year. In terms of work, I have been with Kolding Herreds Landbrugsforening since 1999. The first 10 years as chief consultant with responsibility for consulting and personnel in finance, accounting, law and since 2009 as director of the company with small 70 employees. Over the years, I have worked on several boards as a member and chairman. I look forward to the work in Hedensted Golf Club and the collaboration with the board colleagues, the employees and not least all the volunteer members.

The club has undergone a really good development in the last 18 months, and went through the low season for the first time ever with more than 1,000 members. And today the club has a total of 1,161 members incl. probationers – numbers that we could only dream of a few years ago.

The sudden growth is of course a positive challenge for the club, and not least the many volunteer forces. We must ensure that each and every one of the many new members gets the best possible start in the sport of golf and club life in Hedensted Golf Club. We hope and plan to retain as many of these many new members as possible, and warmly welcome them.

That we become more in the club also means changes – and therefore we are i.a. in the process of looking at our routines in the club, in terms of ensuring better space on the facility for everyone. Especially at the most attractive times on weekdays after work and weekend mornings, we experience more activity on the course, and it is therefore important that we ensure that all members have a good opportunity to enjoy a round of golf at these times.

And with more members also comes a better economy in the long run – and here it is the board’s desire to take advantage of this opportunity to improve the product for you as a member. For example. by the fact that we are already investing in improving and maintaining the course and its surroundings, improving our training facilities, and several other initiatives to make it an even better experience, to be a member of Hedensted Golf Club. A good example of this is our Trackman simulator, which we with the support of a number of sponsors managed to get up and running for the winter season – unfortunately the Corona restrictions got in the way of this – but we look forward to being able to open up to this. autumn this year.

Regardless of the fact that there will be more members and a slightly better economy, Hedensted Golf Club will always need a lot of volunteers who will lend a hand so that we can maintain the golf course and club area with a certain quality and a delight to the eye. . Therefore, I can not thank the volunteers enough for the great effort they are already putting into the club. At the same time, I would like to encourage anyone who would like to lend a hand to contact the secretariat, who will distribute the inquiries to those responsible.

In the coming articles, the individual members of the board will write in-depth posts on some of the topics where they sit as responsible contact persons. If you have topics or questions you would like to elaborate on, you are welcome to make suggestions in the comments field below, and we are happy to include them.

Good summer!
